PS5: Sony relies on exclusive titles, Microsoft on cross-gen for the launch

The next-gen launch around the PS5 and Xbox could be really interesting this time, since both manufacturers have very different strategies – both from a marketing perspective, as well as in terms of software and games.

These days, Microsoft only confirmed that there will be no exclusive games for the launch of the new Xbox and that instead it will focus on cross-gen titles. You will see if that is not a little risky, because the real system sellers are still the exclusive games.

Sony, however, will probably come up with several exclusive games for the PS5, as you could already hear in December. It is not yet clear which games these are, but there will definitely be several.

Kotakus Jason Schreier said:

"I've heard of some PS5 launch titles – but I'm not going to name them now because I will probably write some sort of report on these things in the future – but they will only be on PS5."

Godbox from Gearbox Publishing has so far been officially announced for the PS5 and will most likely be available when the PS5 is launched. It is also expected that either The Last of Us: Part II or Ghost of Tsushima will appear as launch titles for the PS5.

However, security is not available until the end of the year, as soon as the PS5 is also available.
