Gabe Newell's company is forced to come to the fore and deny the insistent rumors that it is developing Left 4 Dead 3.
The recent announcement of Half Life: Alyx and the hype that it has generated in all fans has also revived some hopes, all of them vain. Most revolved around an unlikely announcement not only of Half Life 3, but also of a new installment of a famous Valve franchise and that seems to be more forgotten as is Left 4 Dead. In recent days, rumors have emerged around the hypothetical announcement of Left 4 Dead 3, something that Gabe Newell's company has flatly denied.
No news from Left 4 Dead, for now
From Valve they have assured that not only Left 4 Dead 3, but any title related to the franchise is currently under development.
"We've seen these rumors lately, and it's true that a few years ago we explored opportunities to bring Left 4 Dead back," they recognize in Valve. "But we are currently not working on anything related to Left 4 Dead, or anything related. Unfortunately, there are people creating misinformation to keep the community busy, but a new Left 4 Dead is not something we are working on."
The last installment of the saga, Left 4 Dead 2, was launched more than 10 years ago, in 2009, and only one year after the original game. Instantly, its asymmetric cooperative and competitive multiplayer became a classic that was able to captivate thousands of players, and even today it is possible to find games very easily.
In another order of news related to Valve, we recently learned that Valve Index, the virtual reality device, is sold out thanks to the expectations created around Half Life: Alyx. This game is far from being a mere VR experience, and will be a delivery with all of the law that will be around 15 hours in fact.
