The game of thatgamecompany, parents of Journey, will also be released on consoles soon with cross play, they officially confirm.

Sky: Children of the Light, the new thatgamecompany available on iOS and Android as a free to play, will also come to PC, Mac and consoles on a date yet to be determined. The creative director of the video game, Jenova Chen, has now advanced that two of those platforms will be at least Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

The information has been revealed in the latest issue of the MCV magazine, whose special entitled Develop Awards 2020 includes an interview with the father of another of the great independent works that are remembered, Journey. In the absence of an official statement confirming the date of availability of the title, it is confirmed that the versions of Sony and Nintendo will have cross play; in this way, the players that we meet in the game will be playing interchangeably on both platforms having shared servers.

“But our game runs on iPad, on PC and will do so on consoles in the future. […] In the future, it will have cross play; and if you have PlayStation or Switch, it will be compatible with the crossplay ”, it can be read on the pages of the magazine.

The game proposes a trip set in dreamlike landscapes, a world where we must return the fallen stars to their original constellations through trips in the heavens. A calm, contemplative and collaborative adventure that has evoked all kinds of generally positive feelings and criticism from critics and audiences.

Sky: Children of the Light has been rated as Game of the Year for iPhone this year 2019, according to the awards issued on the App Store. In the curriculum of thatgamecompany we find other games such as Flow, Flower or Journey for PlayStation consoles; although both Flower and Journey are also available on PC through the Epic Games Store. It will be, therefore, the first time that a company title sees the light on a Nintendo platform.
