‘Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution’ will come to Netflix: first trailer in Spanish

The film, which serves as a remake of the original twenty years ago, will be broadcast exclusively on the best known platform in the world.

Netflix and The Pokémon Company have announced an agreement for the popular streaming platform to broadcast exclusively on an international level Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution, the twenty-second and last Pokémon movie to date. First trailer in Spanish.

First trailer in Pokémon Spanish: Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution

It will be on February 27 when many countries, including Spain and with dubbing in Spanish, can enjoy this adaptation of the original film of the franchise, which dates back to 1998; with the difference that all the animation of this remake is made through CGI.

It should be said that February 27 is not an ordinary date. The most talludos in Pokémon will recognize that date because it is the anniversary of Pokémon; a day in which The Pokémon Company usually makes announcements of weight around the license. Without going any further, in 2019 Pokémon Sword and Shield was announced on February 27, while in 2016 it was also February 27 (February 26 in the West due to the time change) the same was done with Pokémon Sun and Moon; that is, the eighth and seventh generation, respectively.

At the moment, The Pokémon Company has not anticipated any major draft announcements about the saga for that day; on the sidelines of the premiere of this movie on Netflix.

What you should know about Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution

The film was originally aired in cinemas on July 4 in the United States, July 12 in Japan. As always, OLM, Inc. was responsible for making a production that generated great acceptance among fans of the saga, although there were also discordant voices before the CGI visual style used. Kunihiko Yuyama and Motonori Sakakibara are the directors of a film that seeks to recall Pokémon's first approach to cinema twenty years later.

The exclusivity of Netflix to screen the film on its worldwide platform – it will be dubbed in several languages, including Spanish, English and Japanese – makes The Pokémon Company yield to a VOD service to offer the feature film first, because until now they used to do it on Pokémon TV, the application available on iOS and Android devices, or on-demand content services of channels such as RTVE in Spain.
