The horror genre may get new growth, because Sony should work on a new horror IP for the PS5. However, details are currently sparse.

The insider ‘Emre Kaya’ on Twitter claims that he usually only says anything about Batman when it comes to gaming, but as far as he’s heard, a new horror IP is in the works that will be released for PS5. However, this cannot currently be proven.

Various franchises that have been established within this genre – Siren, Until Dawn – show that Sony is not completely averse to the horror genre – to name two examples. It is also believed that in addition to well-known brands, several new IPs are also being developed at Sony for the next generation.

Until an announcement or confirmation by Sony, of course, remains a rumor. However, it would always be hopeful, since the horror genre is still neglected.
