In the run-up to this year's GDC, there was again a large-scale survey among developers about how they plan their future. Interest in the PS5 and Xbox Series X was also an issue this year.

When asked which platform is currently the most interesting for developers, the PC is still at the forefront with 50 percent. With 38 percent, the developers voted for the PS5, while 25 percent voted for the Xbox Series X. The PS4 still comes to 18 percent, while the Xbox One is just behind with 16 percent.

VR headsets are surprisingly more interested with 28 percent, with PC platforms and PSVR probably falling into one pot. If you only look at the VR technologies, PlayStation VR is somewhat behind.

When asked whether the developers currently focus more on the next generation or the current generation, the current consoles still dominate. Only 5 percent stated that they are already actively or exclusively concentrating on the next gen, while the majority has an eye on both generations.
