Uncharted filming postponed again

Playfront

Now that the youngest director for the Uncharted film has disembarked, it was to be expected that Sony would postpone the theatrical release again. That is exactly what happened now.

Most recently, Travis Knight (Bumblebee) was used as the director, who is now likely to be replaced by Ruben Fleischer (Venom). The rest of the team will hopefully remain, including Dan Trachtenberg as director, while Jonathan Rosenberg and Mark Walker will take over the screenplay. The actual cast also remains, including Tom Holland as young Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully.

So far nothing is known about the story of the film, but it will probably, if at all, be based on the first Uncharted game, but should not be a 1: 1 retelling. Experience has shown that a flop is pre-programmed, which could damage the franchise as a whole.

It remains to be seen whether this was the last postponement of Uncharted. If so, the film will start on March 5, 2021 in cinemas.
