Resident Evil: Resistance is not part of the current canon

With the remake of ‘Resident Evil 3’ you can look forward to a little multiplayer extra with ‘Resident Evil: Resistance’, which is set in the same universe, but cannot be classified in the current canon of the series. Capcom sees this bonus as a fan service, nothing more and nothing less.

This now underpins Resident Evil 3 producer Peter Fabiano in Official PlayStation Magazine, according to which Resident Evil: Resistance generally plays in Racoon City, but the scenarios cannot possibly fit into the current timeline, even if you meet well-known characters like the mastermind ,

"You will remember that the Japanese subtitle for RE3 was" Last Escape, "Fabiano told the OPM. “These two titles have characters who are trying to escape somewhere or anything, so it made sense thematically. We also wanted to take on the challenge of developing an online game that resides in the RE universe. ”

The connection between the two games is therefore purely thematic, but has nothing to do with the current Resident Evil timeline, which fans should consider before the next big outcry can be heard.

Resident Evil 3 Remake will be released on April 3, 2020.
