The multiplayer mode of Resident Evil 3 Remake is one of the additions with respect to the original video game.

Resident Evil Resistance does not fit within the canon of the saga. The asymmetric multiplayer mode included in Resident Evil 3 Remake has been described by Capcom as “a fun online experience” that has “connections with the universe” of the saga. In statements to the Official PlayStation Magazine, producer Peter Fabiano has acknowledged that some events that happen in Resistance contradict the main history of the franchise, so it is "impossible to conform to the current chronology," he explains.

"You will remember that the Japanese subtitle of Resident Evil 3 was' Last Escape," says the producer. “Both titles have characters that try to escape from somewhere or something, so thematically it makes sense. We also wanted to take the challenge of building an online game within the Resident Evil universe, ”he concludes.

Live or die, there are no more options

In Resident Evil Resistance, up to five players will be part of the adventure. One of them, the master brain, will be in charge of positioning the traps and sending the monsters against the survivors. At the same time, the other four players must fight and face the threat, with the aim of not succumbing to the hordes of enemies that will try to tear off their viscera to taste them later.

Resident Evil 3 Remake was announced days later that PlayStation Store mistakenly filtered the existence of the project. Shortly after, State of Play was the event chosen to make it official, with a first trailer of the video game. It was also confirmed that Project Resistance would be the online mode of the new version of the Capcom classic.

According to the Japanese company, giving the green light to the remake of the second installment was not a simple task, since they rejected it several times. "The thing did not take off," said producer Yoshiaki Hirabatashi in an interview with PlayStation Blog. Finally, the title went ahead, which also boosted the development of the third installment.

Resident Evil 3 Remake will go on sale next April 3 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Collector's Edition is now available to book as exclusive to GAME, although only users who did the same with the standard edition can access it. The chain of stores confirms that the units are very limited. It includes, among other things, a map of Racoon City, soundtrack and a figure of Jill Valentine.
