The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has to do without Sauron

Playfront

For Daedalic, ‘The Lord of the Rings: Gollum’ is the largest and most ambitious project that has ever been developed. In this respect, you take as much freedom as possible. But that also means that certain fan favorites will not appear in the game, including Sauron.

Daedalic has now confirmed this in an interview with Edge Magazine, according to which The Lord of the Rings: Gollum still plays a fairly gray area of the saga, where everything is not yet divided into good or bad.

“It is not so important to us whether someone is good or bad, for our game that is not so much the focus. Sauron is evil, of course, but we won't really see him in the game. ”

Rather, Daedalic also wants to show things that may not be as well known as they say:

“We had discussions about it in the team and it was important to us to show, for example, the Haradrim, the Eastern people – they fill both sides of the spectrum with good and bad characters. And it's not that all the slaves in Barad-dûr are white people captured by the Ostlings, because basically everyone in Barad-dûr is a slave to Sauron, even the orcs. ”

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be released in 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC.
