He highlighted a “Super Sunday” model—one stage run twice on the final day—used in recent events in Finland and Estonia to streamline coverage and attract casual viewers. Estonia’s 2023 rally, shortened to a 48‑hour, three‑day format, proved successful and cost‑saving for teams. Boullier stressed that while this model worked, the diverse terrain of future races—tarmac, gravel, snow, high‑speed asphalt—requires varied durations to preserve the championship’s distinct character. He added that each rally will be tailored to its unique demands.
2027 Calendar and Uncertain Future of Safari Rally
