The new title in the series has been conceived as a cooperative multiplayer action game for up to three players.

No, there is no sequel to Alien Isolation, but there is a new video game for consoles and PC. It was announced by surprise days ago, so the first details have already been uncovered. We refer to Aliens: Fireteam, a production by Cold Iron Studios, which is working on a title with a clear multiplayer focus. It is a cooperative for up to three players in which we must face the threat of the xenomorphs. After showing the first official trailer, IGN has exclusively released 25 minutes of gameplay.

As can be seen in the video, the player fights against these creatures in company, always using different skills and weapons to try to end the threat once and for all. In fact, the developers have promised that enemies will respond to different archetypes. In total 11 types of xenomorphs, each with its strengths and weaknesses.

In Aliens: Fireteam, the Colonial Marines also have different roles. From demolition specialists to reconnaissance experts, passing through the medical class, who will help us to compose ourselves when our wounds surface. Despite its multiplayer status, the team has promised four story-oriented campaigns.

When does the story take place?

23 years have passed since the conclusion of the classic Alien film trilogy. Two decades later, the xenomorphs have not completely disappeared. This is what the colonial marines of the USS Endevor find out when they receive a call for help. Of course, when they arrive at the place there is no trace of the survivors, which does not mean that there are no living beings in the area. The problem is, the place is crawling with xenomorphs, so no welcoming committees.

Aliens: Fireteam is in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series, and PC. The title does not have a specific date, but it does have a launch window: summer 2021.
