Grow a Garden 2 has dropped a new set of pets that instantly re‑shapes how players manage their virtual farms.
Current roster and abilities
The game currently offers five companions: Deer, Raccoon, Frog, Owl, and Bunny. Each pet follows the player around the map, granting a distinct passive benefit. Deer boosts plant growth speed, Raccoon revives the coveted stealing mechanic, Frog provides small, consistent yields, Owl serves as a tracker for rare animals that appear in plant beds, and Bunny accelerates player movement and allows easy theft of other players’ seeds.
How to acquire and position pets
Pets pop up in the lobby and can be purchased for “Sheckles,” the in‑game currency. Shop up to three slots by default; additional slots are available for purchase, enabling players to keep more pets simultaneously. Once bought, a pet follows the owner to their garden until a countdown on its head expires, after which it disappears. If another player outbids a pet’s price, the pet redirects towards the new owner’s garden.
Choosing the right pet for early growth
With limited slot capacity, players should prioritise the Bunny, Robin, and Owl. The Bunny enhances patrol speed and supports seed‑stealing tactics, the Robin keeps seeds flowing to the garden, and the Owl alerts users to the appearance of truly rare animals. The remaining Deer, Raccoon, and Frog serve more niche purposes that complement the core farming loop in later stages.
