The InnerSloth video game, far from its initial figures, will go down in history as one of the games of the year of the pandemic. The figures speak.

Among Us is one of those hits that no one saw coming. It had been available since 2018, but a series of conditions, intangibles and circumstances led this simple work by InnerSloth to experience months of sheer madness where, literally, there were more than a billion views of its games. Talking about Among Us is talking about Twitch, so let’s take a look at the infographic shared by this small North American team of just three people for the last quarter of 2020.

1.2 billion views and more than 221 million hours viewed

The first conclusion that we draw clear is that Among Us has been one of the most played video games of 2020 … but also one of the most watched. In three months, in the period between October and December, InnerSloth reports more than 221 million hours viewed on Twitch for a total of 103.8 million unique users; more than twice the population of Spain.

Other data that is hard to believe are those related to viewing sessions, the number of times someone started a stream to watch a game of Among Us. In this case, the statistic leaves us 1,220 million sessions for 4.32 million hours. On the other hand, the sessions issued, which amounted to 4.85 million during the last quarter of 2020.

One last piece of information. Although the number of successful streamers on Among Us can be counted in the tens, the reality is that there were more than 1.06 million people broadcasting games last quarter alone.

Among Us loses impact on Twitch during 2021

Among Us, available not only on PC and mobile devices, but also on Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms, is far from the figures of then; It no longer appears in the Top-10 or in the Featured lists. In portals like Twitch tracker we see it with a loss of more than 30% of audience every month. If in November it had a monthly average of 107,000 viewers, in January it had 42,000. In February, in the days that we have, the average number of viewers is 28,800.

All this has not, however, prevented it from continuing to be a bestseller. On Nintendo Switch, in December alone, it totaled 3.2 million units sold.
