Andrew Jordan slipped his No.15 PEAK Toyota Camry – a 2013 model once piloted by Clint Bowyer of Michael Waltrip Racing – to a 2.1‑second triumph over Ryan Gemmell in Race 2 of the NASCAR Classic weekend at Le Mans.
The victory followed a heartbreaking demise in Race 1, when Jordan’s vehicle stalled on the final lap in front of the historic Circuit de la Sarthe. Coming back from that setback, Jordan claimed the win, with Gemmell’s 2002 No.55 Perrier Chevrolet Monte Carlo—wrapped to resemble the Talladega Nights’ fictional Jean Girard car—finishing second.
Podium Punch‑Outs
Ryan Gemmell remains the single driver to earn a podium spot in both events, while Kurt Busch secured third place in a 2020 Monster Energy Chevrolet Camaro. Busch, formerly of Chip Ganassi’s Cup Series crew, cut under France near the final chicane, finalising P3 by a razor‑thin 0.011 seconds.
Race Conditions and Final Sprint
The half‑hour sprint saw only a single local yellow‑flag display, preserving the flow of action and keeping the competition tight until the finish.
Highlights for the Next Session
With the weekend’s second heat concluded, the stage is set for further battles across decades of NASCAR stock cars, each engine roaring beneath the Le Mans sky.
