Animal Crossing: New Horizons is already the best selling Nintendo Switch game in Japan

The new Nintendo game has become a massive success and supersedes Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the best-selling Switch title in that territory.

Since the friendly inhabitants of Animal Crossing: New Horizons moved to their respective desert islands, their popularity has increased to unsuspected limits. And is that according to Famitsu sales figures, the new Nintendo game has emerged as the best-selling title in the history of Nintendo Switch in Japan. With 3.9 million units in the Japanese houses, Animal Crossing has surpassed Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which in commercial life has reaped 3.7 million units sold.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons debuted successfully in Japan (and worldwide). In April it sold 1.29 million copies, and that same month, Final Fantasy VII Remake went on sale, a highly anticipated video game that however did not reach one million during that same period (839,000 copies). Nintendo, meanwhile, remains the leading publisher for the fifth consecutive month, generating more than $ 86.4 million in April.
