The Nintendo Switch title is preparing for the Carnival celebration and introduces some improvements in terms of content and quality of life.
Nintendo has released Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.7.0 for Nintendo Switch. The Japanese company unveiled at the beginning of this week this great development of the successful video game, a new batch of totally free content that comes to celebrate, to a large extent, the Carnival, as well as offer improvements of different kinds, add new outfits and resolve possible reported issues.
From FreeGameTips we have already been able to update the game, so that this version 1.7.0 is already available throughout the European scene and will progressively do so in all territories during the day this Thursday.

What’s New in Version 1.7.0 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons; how to update
We can divide the novelties of this content update into three large blocks to prepare for the game’s Carnival: the event itself, new emotions, new outfits and seasonal objects, as Nintendo explained days ago.
- Carnival event: on February 15, Conga will arrive at the square of our island to distribute confetti and celebrate this day, where everyone can dress up, take the feathers that remain on the island and exchange them with Conga for a number of dance. These rainbow feathers are hard to find.
- New Thrills and Outfits: The “Carnival Thrills” set can be obtained by playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, simply by going to the MiniNook store, and can be purchased with robes. Includes Choreography, Vamos, Viva y Confeti. On the other hand, from February 1 new outfits will be available in the Handy Sisters store.
- New season objects: on the occasion of Carnival, boxes of chocolates for Valentine’s Day and the bouquet of flowers for lovers will arrive from TeleNook. These items can be purchased from February 1 to February 14.
To update the game, just have our Nintendo Switch connected to the Internet, click on the (+) button above the Animal Crossing icon and go to Update. It usually takes only a few seconds, at most a couple of minutes, to download and apply the installation. The program will then start.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons breaks sales records
Nintendo’s latest financial report (Q2 / FY2021) dated September 30, made it clear that Animal Crossing: New Horizons’s situation is unusual and historic. With more than 26.04 million units sold, it is one of the fastest-selling games in Nintendo history. In fact, it is already the second best-seller, only below Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (another fireproof in the hybrid’s catalog) with 28.99 million copies.
