Embark Studios will open a PvE‑only matchmaking toggle in ARC Raiders from October 13 to 20, 2026, letting crews face only the game’s AI enemies.
Why the Toggle?
Survey results show that over 70 % of friendly players and 40 % of pure PvP players want fewer hostile encounters, while 51 % of the community has asked for a dedicated PvE mode. Embark’s blog cites these preferences as the reason for the temporary experiment.
How the Test Manages Gameplay
During the beta, players can choose Solo, Duo, or Trio squads in a PvE‑only session. Classic PvPvE conditions—Night Raids, Hidden Bunker, Locked Gate, and Frigate—will remain locked out to keep the experience relaxed. Loot values will drop, yet ARCs still pose a danger, and any knock‑down will inflict damage. The toggle does not affect PvPvE matchmaking ratings.
What Happens After the Test?
Embark has warned that the PvE toggle will be removed once the trial concludes and PvPvE matchmaking will resume. While the studio is not promising a permanent mode, success in the beta could prompt them to add a lasting option. The Frozen Trails update arrives on October 8, just before the beta’s launch, marking a critical period for new content and experimental features.
