Regardless of whether we take the male or female character, the development team believes that it will be a fully “complete” experience.
Like Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the new Assassin's Creed Valhalla will allow us to choose a male or female lead character without altering the story: Eivor. In this case, Ubisoft has wanted to make it clear on several occasions that the two characters will be canon (despite the fact that it is the male version that accompanies the promotion of the work). This time, Darby McDevitt, narrative director, has delved into this idea to send a message of calm to the fans when we reach the end of the adventure: "you will always feel that Eivor was Eivor".
"Regardless of whether you choose to be a man or a woman, both options are equally valid in our game," begins McDevitt in an official video of Ubisoft published through the social network Twitter. “You will always feel that Eivor is consistent and complete. And the result will speak for itself. There are a lot of interesting mysteries to intrigue around the Eivor character; I am eager that you can delve into these mysteries ”, he adds after a previous explanation.
Although it does not reveal whether in this case both versions of Eivor will be twins, if they will be related or directly the same, there are secrets that we do not yet know.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla, on sale in late 2020
There are aspects that Ubisoft Montreal, main responsible for the game along with fourteen other development teams, do not want to alter regarding Origins (2017) and Odyssey (2018). One of them is the combat and gameplay system, which will be similar and will maintain a structured design with an open world base and ARPG. What will change are the barriers to progression. This time they don't want players to be forced to complete side stories to level up and be able to comfortably advance through the story – they will be more direct. They promise better puzzles and diplomacy to resolve conflicts; not just physical violence.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is planned for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Google Stadia, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (with Smart Delivery) at the end of 2020. It is confirmed that in the new generation console from Microsoft it will run at 4K and 30 FPS " As minimum". Apart from what we have discussed, there are other classic mechanics that are back. And yes, we will see "gameplay crowd" before the title hits the stores.
It is likely that in Ubisoft Forward, the digital alternative of Ubisoft for the canceled E3 2020, we will see news. Its broadcast will be in July.
