Bethesda to give away Quake 3 after raising more than $ 20,000 for charity

Bethesda’s charity initiative as part of QuakeCon at Home has been a success and the company prepares gifts through its launcher.

This weekend the QuakeCon at Home was held, a digital event on the occasion of the 25 years of QuakeCon conditioned by the current coronavirus health crisis and which has served for Bethesda to present its novelties for titles such as Doom Eternal, Fallout 76 or The Elder Scrolls Online, among others, in addition to running a fundraising charity for UNICEF, Direct Relief and The Trevor Project and offering gifts to the gaming community. And precisely, after getting more than $ 20,000 raised, Bethesda has made sure that it will give away Quake 3 through its own launcher.

Success of the QuakeCon at Home charity

β€œYou did it! We have raised $ 20,000 in donations for charity thanks to you! Quake 3 will now be free on the Bethesda.net Launcher after QuakeCon at Home ”, they assure from Bethesda through a recent tweet. β€œThank you to all of you who have donated!” They conclude, reminding the community that donations can still be made through a link suggested in the tweet itself.

The fact is that for now Quake 3 is not offered for free, since in the Bethesda launcher it maintains its price, yes, substantially reduced with a 69% discount, staying at 3 euros instead of 9, 99 euros usual. The same goes for Quake 2, which is offered with a 69% discount to stay for 1.50 euros instead of the usual 4.99 euros.

Let’s remember that during this weekend different rewards have been offered to Bethesda users through its launcher, such as the gift of the original Quake or the possibility of unlocking all the characters of Quake Champions just for playing a game.
