Pearl Abyss today announced the biggest update to date for the console version of Black Dessert. The brand new, free expansion Margoria promises a whole range of exciting activities and innovations.
The already gigantic world of Black Desert is being expanded to twice its size with the ocean of Margoria in the northwest of the continent. A new port serves as the starting point for adventures on the high seas. The expansion introduces new activities such as shipbuilding, hunting for sea monsters and diving for treasures. New quests continue the main story; PvP fans can also enjoy large-scale guild-to-guild naval battles – the best way to gain control over the newly created trade routes.
If you manually maneuver your ships across the ocean, you get sailing talent, which gives access to more complex ship types. Adventurers can now swim and dive underwater for treasures like giant pearl oysters, which can be made into accessories that are useful to seafarers on their travels.
Daring warlords should watch out for the numerous creatures that populate the waters of Margoria and also keep an eye on destructive storms. You can also hear legends of a phantom ship haunted in the area. Navigating in the non-mapped areas is also no easy task: adventurers only have to go armed with the mini map as a compass. But all of the dangers of Margoria are offset by the rewards and riches that await successful seafarers – exploring the open sea is worthwhile.
