Black Widow has a new release date: Marvel Studios reorganizes Phase 4

Marvel Studios presents a new calendar for its next films until 2022 due to the global coronavirus crisis; Eternals leaves for 2021.

Recently Marvel Studios announced the indefinite delay of Black Widow, its next film that should give the starting gun to Phase 4 of the UCM, a film that was left without a date due to the current global coronavirus crisis. Now, the company has announced the new release date of Black Widow, also presenting a reorganized Phase 4 schedule due to different delays in its adaptations. Thus, Black Widow will hit theaters around the world on November 6, 2020, while Eternals, which should be the second UCM film of this 2020 with a premiere scheduled for November, goes to 2021.

New schedule for Phase 4 of the UCM

Thus, Black Widow takes the place of Eternals as a premiere in theaters of Phase 4, while Eternals already has a new release date, which will be February 12, 2021. In fact, all the films they already had Release date between 2020 and 2022 move one position with respect to the original calendar, so Phase 4 is as follows:

  • Black Widow: November 6, 2020
  • Eternals: February 12, 2021
  • Sang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings: May 7, 2021
  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: November 5, 2021
  • Thor: Love and Thunder: February 18, 2022
  • Black Panther 2: May 8, 2022
  • Captain Marvel 2: July 8, 2022

For now these are the new dates provided by Marvel Studio regarding their upcoming films with some notable absences, such as The New Mutants, which seems to not yet have a new release date after its latest delay due to the coronavirus crisis, a movie inherited from Fox after the purchase of the rights; on the other hand, there is no mention of the third part of Spider-Man, scheduled for the month of July 2021 or Ant-Man 3, which also does not appear at the moment among the upcoming releases of the UCM.

There are also no news about the upcoming UCM series planned for Disney + and that for now remain on standby due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
