The actress has reached an agreement to play the well-known character from the 2K Games and Gearbox saga.
The same day that Sonic: The Movie is officially announced to have a sequel, it has also been revealed that negotiations between Lionsgate and actress Cate Blanchett have come to fruition. The producer has shared an article from the Hollywood Reporter and has made it official: the interpreter will play Lilith in the Borderlands movie. Blanchett will be reunited with Eli Roth, the director he worked with on The House with a Clock in Its Walls.
The project will feature some of those responsible for the saga. Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox (the studio) and Strauss Zelnick, head of Take-Two Interactive, will participate as executive producers. The developer had already anticipated that possibility when they echoed the rumors and expressed interest in Blanchett joining the cast of actors and actresses.
