Cadillac Racing revealed a fresh upgrade package for its Mac‑26 before the Austrian Grand Prix, reinforcing the American outfit’s mid‑season push.
Hardware improvements
The update bundles new sidepods and an enlarged floor, along with a redesigned rear wing and exhaust. These changes aim to raise down‑force and brake‑by‑cooling effectiveness, following similar tweaks that helped Sergio Perez qualify 1.9 seconds off the top in Monaco and outpace Aston Martin by 1.2 seconds at Barcelona.
Progressive development strategy
“Every race feels like a step forward,” team principal Graeme Lowdon said. He noted that the rapid succession of Grands Prix—Red Bull Ring followed by Silverstone—demands tight logistical coordination. “We are learning constantly, and the new kit should continue the trajectory of catching up to midfield.”
Driver outlook
After a fortuitous start in Monaco and a hard‑fought outing in Spain, the Mexican driver believes the latest parts will help narrow the gap in the points. He praised the factory’s swift delivery of upgrades, saying, “The rate of development is very good, and this weekend’s update should give us another leap forward.”
