The title to be released in 2020 has yet to be officially announced, although Treyarch and Raven Software are working on its development.
Call of Duty: Warzone is here to stay. The free-to-play title developed by Infinity Ward, the creators of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, has no intention of saying goodbye when the new installment of the main saga goes on sale. What’s more, the objective is just the opposite. In an interview with GamesRadar, Design Director Geoff Smith has confirmed that his battle royale will evolve with content from the next Call of Duty.
“Although Warzone is closely tied to Modern Warfare, it was designed from the ground up as a standalone game,” he explains in the interview. “As the title continues to update over time, it will evolve and strengthen ties with other games in the Call of Duty universe.” In this way, the strategy that Activision carried out with Blackout, the first experiment in the saga with the battle royale genre, is put aside to give the product greater continuity over time.
Verdansk will never be the same.

Little is officially known about the Call of Duty that will go on sale later this year, but Activision has revealed who is in charge of the project. During the shareholders meeting in which the financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year were presented, the Americans reported that Treyarch and Raven Software are working on the project. The company has been “enthusiastic” and has ensured that the title looks “incredible”. In addition, Activision has dropped that there will be new information soon.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone are the latest titles in the series. They are available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, while mobile gamers can enjoy an edition specifically designed for this class of devices, Call of Duty: Mobile.
