Capcom and Square Enix cancel their presence at PAX East; fear of the coronavirus

Both companies rule out attending the fair that will take place in Boston, as does Sony PlayStation. Nintendo has confirmed that it will be there.

Capcom and Square Enix have confirmed that they will cause casualty in the PAX East 2020 that will take place from February 27 to March 1 in Boston, Massachusetts. Both Japanese companies, like Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation brand, have decided to stay out of the event because of the fear surrounding COVID-19, mostly known as Wuhan's coronavirus.

With regard to Square Enix, which had announced to the media their participation just a few days ago with Final Fantasy VII Remake as headliner, they allude to not being able to move their team from Japan to the United States, they will be forced to reduce almost all the panels, signature sessions and meetings with the fans of the main members of the development teams.

Capcom, meanwhile, has confirmed the news through the social network Twitter. Although they leave the doors open to continue attending the Monster Hunter: Festa to be held at the Boston PAX East itself, the developers of the Monster Hunter team will not attend this edition, as initially planned. In this specific case, it is important to note that Osaka's firm has not explained that his discharge responds to the fear that currently exists towards the coronavirus. When asked about it, Capcom refers to the reading of the original tweet.
