Colors! it’s back. Thirteen years after its release on the Nintendo DS, the series will debut on the Nintendo Switch after its Kickstarter campaign has been a forceful success. Jens Andersson, creator of the video game, needed 14,386 euros to finance the project, but he has found that the patrons have already contributed almost 150,000 euros (and there are still more than two days left!). It’s about Colors! Live, a new installment that will feature a very special stylus.
“Many people have asked me to wear Colors! to Nintendo Switch, ”he says on his Kickstarter page. “However, I didn’t want to do it unless I could make a better version than Colors! 3D. Without a pencil, I would have been forced to draw with my fingers, which I don’t think is too much fun, ”he says.

However, a year ago, an inventor friend of his contacted him and presented him with the pencil, which reacts depending on the pressure the person makes with his hands. “I realized that would be perfect for Nintendo Switch, so together we developed the Colors SonarPen, which is included in Colors! Live. In this way, we can provide real pressure sensitivity, a responsive way to control the thickness and transparency of each stroke. “
The Stylus pen connects to the console through the headphone jack port and uses sound waves when touching the screen. Also, the microphone allows you to monitor the pressure.
As a novelty compared to previous installments, the new production incorporates a single player mode. In Colors Quest, you will have to draw something new every day, always according to a theme and various rules. “I’ve been able to create something that works for people with any skill level,” which also rewards you when you improve. “My hope is that this mode will be a great inspiration to you.”
