Coronavirus causes crashes in NBA 2K20

One of the game modes is tied to the actual competition, which has been canceled due to the situation with the Covid-19.

The coronavirus (Covid-19) has changed the reality of society in just a few weeks. The WHO has declared a pandemic and many companies are adapting to the new situation, something that has significantly affected the video game industry. With E3 2020 canceled, companies are looking for alternatives to present their games. In the case of NBA 2K20, the 2K Games basketball simulator, they have encountered an additional problem: the cancellation of the real competition is breaking some systems of the game.

And there is a game mode that is based on real NBA statistics. What happens is that the organization has stopped the competition, which means that there are no statistics or other data to update. This has directly affected the video game, which when trying to simulate the results, hangs without remedy. In this situation, developers should get down to work to disable the functionality. After all, the coronavirus has caught us by surprise and there are still plenty of fires to quench.

2KGames will work again in NFL games

Electronic Arts is the company that produces games based on the NFL, the official football league, year after year. For decades, the Madden NFL saga has been on consoles and computers, but 2K also had its own sports franchise, NFL2K, which has been fallow for 16 years. However, both parties have announced an agreement by which they agree to work in a collaboration that will materialize in unpublished official games. Even so, they will move in a different terrain than EA Sports, since they have advanced that they will not be simulators.

In the absence of more details, they have mentioned that the titles are at a time of initial development, so they will not come out until at least 2021. Meanwhile, NBA2K20 continues its course on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch . The next season's edition, which we hope, will be less eventful than the current one, will not miss the appointment either.
