Time is one of the central concepts of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the new installment in the saga created by Naughty Dog. It has been owned by Activision for years, but the North American company has finally found the way to continue the story of the most famous marsupial in video games. Following in the wake of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Toys for Bob – the studio in charge of development – offers a fast-paced platforming experience. It was already known that the character was going to make an appearance at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2020, a scenario in which it has been confirmed that there will be flashbacks with his protagonist.

Thus the things, the players will have the opportunity to explore the lore of the saga through special levels. The developers claim that they will “challenge the players” through puzzles and platforms that require pinpoint precision. The flashback phases will be set in a time when Crash Bandicoot has been taken prisoner by Doctor Neo Cortex. The Machiavellian scientist experiments with Crash and puts all his evil ideas into practice, so our protagonist will have to escape from his prison once and for all.

It has been confirmed that players will access various flashbacks, with which they can relive events from the past and discover interesting details such as the origins of Crash and his sister Coco. The title, therefore, will explore the history of its protagonists and will allow us to live the story from different points of view, since we will not only control Crash, but also Coco and even Neo Cortex.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will go on sale next October 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. At the moment there are no confirmed versions of Nintendo Switch and PC, although it has been revealed how much it will occupy on the hard drive: you will need about 30 GB of free space.
