Crysis Remastered will not include Warhead expansion

Crytek confirms that the package will only include the original game on all platforms, that is, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The rumors about Warhead as part of Crysis Remastered started ringing out shortly after Crytek officially announced the new version of its title. However, this time, bad tongues have not conveyed the correct message. The German company has confirmed in a statement to Inverse that the expansion will not be included. "Crysis Remastered is simply the original game," says a company representative. "There will be no Warhead or any of the other titles in the series."

This remastering itself had long sounded like a possibility. In recent weeks, a series of leaks dropped that the option was very real, until finally Crytek itself officially announced it. The game, which will appear for the first time on a Nintendo console, promises playable and graphic improvements. Thus, it will incorporate ray tracing and higher quality textures. To open the mouth, the German company published a first official teaser, available at the head of this same news.

EA does not edit the title this time

Although Electronic Arts anticipated the development of new remasters of its sagas, with Command and Conquer as the first on the list, the truth is that Crytek and EA have separated their ways. At least, the logo of the North American company does not appear anywhere, which suggests that it will be the studio itself that is responsible for editing and distributing it in stores.

"We are very excited to be able to work on the Crysis saga again, and to offer all Crysis fans a remastering to match their passion for the game," said Avni Yerli, CEO of Crytek. "It is an exciting opportunity to bring Crysis back to current PCs and consoles – even Nintendo Switch! – so that a new generation of gamers can experience the thrill of combat in a Nanosuit."

Crysis Remastered will go on sale in summer 2020 for PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4.
