Cyberpunk 2077 – Around 75 street stories await you in Night City

As it should be for a proper role-playing game, you do not just stubbornly follow the story, the surrounding area is also an important part of the entire game. In addition, around 75 street stories await you in Night City, as developer CD Projekt reveals.

The Street Stories are smaller stories that you come across by chance and can optionally be followed. So you want to avoid that everything seems too scripted. In an interview with John Mamais, Head of Studio of CD Projekt RED, he said:

“We have no simulator material or gameplay. In Witcher 3, we created the open world elements very late in the development process when only two or three people worked on them. Around 15 people are currently completing these open-world quests.

There are several layers. There is a passive level that is the vendors and then there are the STSs that are the street stories. I think there are about 75 street stories. And then there are smaller activities.

The street stories are like little quests. There's a story, but there aren't that many advanced cinematic storytelling sequences. They are a way to explore the world and further improve your character. ”

In addition, CD Projekt briefly went into the technical aspects of Cyberpunk 2077, after which not all features were presented in their full glory. For example, real-time global illumination would not have been fully exploited. Even sound features like Dolby Atmos could not be experienced, even if that should not be the case with the PS4 version. With the potential PS5 version, the 3D sound should then be taken into account.
