That was probably nothing with the secure release of Cyberpunk 2077 in September, as was only guaranteed a few weeks ago. Instead, CD Projekt postpones the RPG for another month.
In a statement, the developer writes today:
“Those of you who are familiar with the way we create games know that we are not releasing anything that is not yet ready. “Done when it’s done” is not just a phrase we say because it sounds right, but something we live by, even if we know we will take the anger for it. At the same time, we are fully aware that making a decision like this will take your trust and swapping trust in additional time is one of the most difficult decisions a game developer can make. And even though we think this is the right decision for the game, we still want to apologize that you have to wait longer. Our goal is to make Cyberpunk 2077 something that will stay with you for years to come. In the end, we hope you understand why we did what we did. ”
In addition, it says that Cyberpunk 2077 is finished in terms of both content and play. The quests, cutscenes, skills and items; all the adventures that Night City has to offer – everything is ready. But with such an abundance of content and complex systems that are interwoven, you also have to make sure that the game mechanics are balanced and that there are no mistakes. A huge world means a large number of things that need to be ironed out, so you spend the extra time doing just that.
Impressions of Cyberpunk 2077 will be there shortly at the Night City Wire on June 25th. Cyberpunk 2077 itself will be released on November 19, 2020.
