Days Gone community celebrates game's first anniversary - contests and more

The #DaysGoneWeek started on April 20 and will end on April 26, the same day the launch occurred, a year ago.

The new intellectual property of SIE Bend Studio was released on April 26, 2019 exclusively for PlayStation 4. Days Gone, an open-world game with zombies, action and survival, marked the return of the studio to triple-A productions. With a few days left to commemorate its launch, the community has turned to an event that they have called “Days of Gone Week”, which will be accompanied by contests and various additional activities.

This was announced by its organizer, Kevin McAllister (no, not the Kevin McAllister of Home Alone), better known online by the name of vikingdad278. This follower of Bend Studio's work has a web page where he uploads all his content, ranging from photos in photo mode to interviews with developers. In order to commemorate the anniversary, McAllister has announced a series of events that will take place throughout this week. It promises surprise guests, interviews with people from the studio, gifts, videos contributed by fans, streams, photo contests, etc.

It should be noted that some of the team members have echoed the event and have modified their biographies on social networks to promote the hashtag #DaysGoneWeek, with which the organizer intends to spread the word through the network.

Journey into a United States of blood and death

Days Gone tells the story of Deacon St John, a biker who has witnessed the horror of the world. The so-called freakers, a kind of zombies, are terrible monsters that do not hesitate to kill anyone who comes near their domain. Endowed with a certain intelligence, many of them gather in packs, making it very difficult to finish them off.

Deacon's survival story parallels his personal drama, which has to do with his wife. Meanwhile, he will have to travel this apocalyptic United States on his motorcycle, hoping that something will change in the future, always with the intention of living one more day. Will he succeed? It depends entirely on the player.
