Faced with the bombing review of Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima's new game, Metacritic takes action on the matter, eliminating thousands of negative analyzes.
Review bombing has become a common movement for Metacritic users, a way to protest the general quality of a game or a specific aspect of it. What is not usual is that Metacritic takes measures against, as has been the case with Death Stranding, a game that received thousands and thousands of negative critics from the players.
Thus, the portal that collects dozens of criticisms from the press and undefined players has decided to eliminate more than 6,000 negative ratings from players on the Death Stranding page. In this way, what used to mean an average score of users of 5'1 with 9,355 reviews is now at a 7'4 with 2,958. What is not clear is what Metacritic has used to eliminate these reviews, since there are still some not only negative, but especially destructive as well.
As we said before, the review bombing is common in recent times, and there are several video games that have suffered. Pokémon Sword and Shield is one of the most recent, due to some Game Freak decisions that its fans did not like, as well as a technical section below what was expected in a production of this type. But sometimes it is also used to protest some measure of the companies, such as the exclusivity of Borderlands 3 in the Epic Games Store, something that players so little liked to bombard the Borderlands 2 Steam page.
