Destiny 2: Bungie will balance the power of the swords; new energy bar

All Destiny 2 swords will undergo various adjustments to find a more optimal balance point. A new energy meter will be included.

Bungie reveals the first changes that will be included in the next season of Destiny 2. A month before we cross another door in his adventure, the company has started with a sensitive issue within the community: the swords.

After the comments they received in recent months, this type of armament will undergo quite drastic changes with respect to its current form, which dates from the arrival of the King of the Possessed to the first Destiny. According to the study itself, they had the feeling that "an update was needed" to work with them in future versions.

Unpublished meter: sword energy

The main change is the inclusion of a new meter that determines how much accumulated energy the sword has. This record will coexist with ammunition capacity and will be “more important than your melee indicator”. For example, when blocking an attack, energy will be spent instead of ammo. Depending on the action received, the consumption rate will vary. However, to start blocking we will need at least one point of ammunition.

In broad strokes we are faced with a kind of symbiosis between both elements. Both are required to perform the movements, but at the moment of truth only one side is consumed. As far as the types of attack are concerned, all light ground attacks will join the infinite combo on any sword, including the ability to cross.

Instead, the heavy ones will now consume energy. When we have the bar fuller, this movement will be more powerful, and vice versa. Bungie indicates that "much of the use of swords resulted in pressing the heavy attack button endlessly instead of mixing attacks," which left little room for more tactical use, so to speak.

How could it be otherwise, the amounts of damage will also be adjusted according to the attack and the advantages they can enjoy. You can check the list in detail through this link. For its part, Destiny 2: Shadow Bastion is now available on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia.
