Bungie has repeatedly emphasized that you are currently not worried about 'Destiny 3', but you would like to repeat it again. The focus is still on Destiny 2, which will continue to be supported for quite some time.
In an interview with Bungie's Communications Director, David ‘DeeJ’ Dague, he said that fans have to be patient for a while before the next game. At the moment you are not ready to talk about Destiny 3, even if you can understand the constant demands for it.
"At the moment, our commitment and attention is focused on the seasons that will develop over the next year, make them interesting, and maintain a multi-year storyline that keeps players busy."
Indeed, Destiny's original plan was for a third game to be released around the current period. After the Activision spin-off, however, these plans were completely reorganized and the focus was entirely on Destiny 2. If there is another game, it will probably only be in the next generation.
