The EA Studio DICE LA is experiencing a major change this year and is being converted into an independent studio. There will also be a new name.
The studio will be headed by Vince Zampella from Respawn, who will work on her own unannounced game there. In addition, you will differentiate yourself from Respawn or the main studio of DICE to build your own image. Hence the planned name change.
In the LA Times, Zampella explains:
"We will probably rename ourselves," said Zampella. "We want to create a new image. We want people to say, “This is a goal where you can create new content. I think they got the branding they consider to be a support studio for DICE Stockholm. And I think rebranding is important to show people: "Hey! Come and work here. We're going to do some amazing things. ”
DICE LA had previously acted as a support studio for DICE in Stockholm and had worked on projects such as Battlefield, Mirror’s Edge and Star Wars: Battlefront. What the "new" studio plans next is not yet known.
