DiRT 5: GPU difference between PS5 and Xbox Series X "will have no impact" on development

DiRT 5 lead designer comments on his opinion about the difference in GPU between PS5 and Xbox Series X. According to him, it will “have no impact” on development.

PS5 and Xbox Series X | S are just weeks away from their official launch. When in doubt about how they will perform, DiRT 5 lead designer, Mike Moreton, explains that the differences in the GPU of the two consoles will not have a difference in impact on the development and creative vision of the new generation titles.

“From a gameplay and development perspective, it will have no impact. When it comes to customizing, tweaking and optimizing at the end of a game, it may mean having less work on one platform than another, ”Moreton explains in an interview with Gamingbolt.

The Xbox Series X GPU will have 12 Teraflops, 52CUs at 1.825 GHz, while the PS5 will reach 10.28 Teraflops, 36 Cus at 2.23 GHz. The complete differences of the two hardwares can be found here.

It has not been the only voice in relation to the differences between the systems that we will see as of November. If we focus on Xbox Series S, the director of Watch Dogs: Legion stated in this house that they develop the games to “be scalable.” In other words, having a lower console within the same ecosystem does not influence when creating a new generation experience, but rather the project adapts to the circumstances.

DiRT 5 will arrive on November 6 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. On the launch day of PS5 and Xbox Series X | S an enhanced version will be available specifically for them. We can expect faster loading times, 4K, mode to play it at 120 fps and cross-play between the consoles of the same family. The update will be free with a copy of the last generation. In the case of Sony’s console, it will make use of haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers of the DualSense. In FreeGameTips we have already played it on Xbox Series X.
