Larian Studios collaborates with Apple and Elverils to transfer Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition to iPad. It will have functions adapted to the tablet.
Larian Studios continues to expand the platforms reached by Divinity: Original Sin 2. After having debuted on Nintendo Switch last year, the study confirms that it is working on a port for iPad.
It was in a talk about Xcode 2 during WWDC 2020 when Apple showed the ins and outs of the first steps of the port to the tablet. The Belgians collaborate with them and Elverils to create a fully compatible version on iPad. Therefore, the user interface will be changed, a new full touch control and support for third-party controls will be added.
In the press release, Larian acknowledges that he is “very far” from its launch, although excited to work “with the best development minds on Apple and iPad.” It does not take them by surprise, since Elverils did the same with the adaptation of the PC version to MacOS.
The study summons us to next dates to know the complete list of functions and additions that this edition will bring, although what we do know is that it will be the definitive edition, as it happened with the ports of PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

In mid-June we were introduced to the latest content pack at no additional cost for Divinity: Original Sin 2. Rivellon’s Four Relics introduces new quests “in search of four ancient armor imbued with magical properties,” including a gigantic dragon as final boss. .
Free packages were already common in its post-launch stage, but this takes it one step further. The update is already available in all versions of the game, which also corrects different problems that had remained in the pipeline.
The immediate future of Larian Studios passes through Baldur’s Gate 3. If all goes well, early access will arrive in just a couple of months: August.
