Divinity: Original Sin 2 expands with free updates

Those also responsible for Baldur’s Gate 3 do not neglect their previous project, which is updated with unpublished content.

They already warned him. The Guerrilla Collective event would host announcements about Larian Studios’ projects. The Belgian developer did not miss this virtual appointment and revealed some important news about Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3. In the first case, the studio has released a free DLC that includes missions, items and a new final boss, that promises to be hard to crack.

For over a year, Larian Studios has offered various free packs, essentially containing customization items for the characters. However, this last package goes one step further. The Four Relics of Rivellon introduces new missions “in search of four ancient armor imbued with magical properties”, not to mention the huge dragon that awaits us with not too good intentions.

From Divinity to Baldur’s Gate 3

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is an RPG that is born from an already veteran saga. This is an old-school RPG, bringing the spirit of board games into the video game. Although originally released on PC, the title has seen the light on console, first on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and then on Nintendo Switch.

Despite the problems caused by the coronavirus epidemic, Larian Studios continues to work hard to meet its schedule deadlines. Its new title, Baldur’s Gate 3, will be released in early access first. If the new methodology (working from home) does not delay development, the game can be tested starting in August.

The study collects the BioWare witness and proposes a third installment that will respect the essence of the classics, although they will have Larian’s own stamp. Unlike previous video games, Baldur’s Gate 3 will work with a turn-based combat system. Both Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn used a real-time system with tactical pause.
