All major games released this year can be assumed to be a potential cross-gen title. If you refer to ‘DOOM Eternal’, this would be the “next logical step”, as developer id Software now said.
During the recent previews of the game, Game Director Marty Stratton said that there is currently nothing to be announced in this regard, but because of the new possibilities with the upcoming hardware, that's an interesting thought.
“We haven't talked about it yet, but one of the exciting things is that we're at the end of this console cycle where our team really knows this technology very well. So we could really get the best out of this hardware. And I'm very excited to see what this means for the next hardware.
We don't have anything to announce yet, but it's really exciting. They do some really great things with this hardware, so I think it's logical that we push for it and honestly try to be one of the best games on this platform. ”
