id Software clarifies that Denuvo had nothing to do with the video game's performance problems.
Denuvo is once again the center of attention. This anti-cheat system leaves no one indifferent, since players often complain that the performance of the products that use it is affected. In any case, id Software has confirmed that the next Doom Eternal update will definitely remove this system.
Like many other video games, the developer has not escaped criticism for implementing Denuvo, although the study has self-criticized and rectified. Marty Stratton, producer of Doom Eternal, has written an entry on Reddit about it: “Although we did it with the best intentions, the feedback from the players has made it clear that we have to re-evaluate our approach with the integration of anti-cheat systems. Therefore, we will remove this technology from our game in the next update for PC ”, he publishes.
While investigating a new solution, they consider that they should at least offer players who enjoy the single player campaign the ability to play without this software installed, while ensuring that the integration of any such technology best matches " user expectations ”with clear initiatives.

Stratton rules out performance performance
According to the producer, Denuvo Anti-Cheat has had no impact on performance issues that PC users have detected. After researching it, they have found and fixed issues related to customizable skins. "We have also been able to identify and fix numerous memory-related crashes that should improve stability." Furthermore, Stratton has stated that the decision to use Denuvo was not from Bethesda, but from themselves.
Doom Eternal went on sale for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia. The Nintendo Switch version has no release date yet, although Bethesda confirmed it wouldn't take too long.
