Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, video Reviews

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, video analysis

We show you on video the best and worst of the new Goku game that comes out this Friday, January 17 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

It's here. Several months have passed since E3 announced a Dragon Ball game developed by Cyberconnect2, the same ones that have moved the Naruto series to the world of videogames with extreme fidelity. And above all, of any technical visibility or detail elements, what Dragon Ball Z Kakarot breathes is precisely that: a tribute to the history of our lives. To the story of what Akira Toriyama created.

In fact, Kakarot's coletilla seems even too personalistic, considering that we will control Gohan, a long time by the way, and many others like Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks, Gotenks, Goten or Vegetto. Because this is the story of everyone, from those who met Goku's little son with the four-star ball on his head to those who also raised our hands to give our energy to Kakarot so that he could finally defeat the greatest wicked we had ever seen: Buu.

But what exactly is Dragon Ball Z Kakarot? Mainly, an open-world Action RPG in which we travel through history that we know by heart, but that surely had never told us so much detail. Because yes, we started fighting with Raditz in countless Dragon Ball games. Surely that is why many had opted for new stories, such as the recent Xenoverse and FighterZ. But the amount of details, winks to the fan and recognizable places is present from the start. Since Gohan starts to cry if when we are in the forest with him, we separate too much. Going through Mutenroshi asking us to find a magazine of his own that the turtle has hidden from him, or watching as Piccolo throws two apples at Gohan to survive in the middle of nowhere during his training.

Kakarot is this: endless details, of moments that we have already lived and that we had forgotten. It is not usual to be present in the search for Dragon balls and that game of chess that between Freeza, Vegeta and Krillin the great spheres of Namek are disputed. Nor is it training in the hyperbolic time chamber to see Gohan transform into Super Saiyan. Not much, much less, play baseball in high school or get a driving license with Piccolo. It is in the details when Kakarot beats us. If we walk through the city where Cell appears for the first time, we will only see clothes on the floor. Not a citizen. If we go around the world after the Super Buu attack, there will be no one, as it should be.
