The mythical role-playing saga is passed to mobile devices with an RPG that will work under a free-to-play model.
Square Enix works on Dragon Quest Tact, a title that was recently announced and will be for mobile terminals. The new work of the Japanese company, which will adopt a free-to-play model, translates the essence of the franchise and fits it into a tactical role title, in which players can live a fantasy adventure with the Dragon seal Quest, as seen in the trailer on these lines. The company has also announced an exclusive closed beta for the Japanese market, which will begin on February 27 and will end on March 5.
The Japanese company has opened a registration page, although only 10,000 Android users will be selected to taste the video game as a scoop. They will be able to test first-hand the mechanics, which will be designed for the player to develop strategies and equipment, which will then be tested in turn-based fighting. How could it be otherwise, the interface has been optimized for operation on mobile devices, in which the monsters represented in three dimensions will appear.

The main creators, in the project
Aiming, specialized in mobile video games, is the study behind the project. That does not mean that the key members of the franchise have stayed in the background. Yuji Horii, creator of the saga, directs the project, while Akira Toriyama has been in charge of designing the monsters. After the musical baton, veteran Kouchi Sugiyama has put notes on the soundtrack of Dragon Quest Tact.
The production is planned for both Android and iOS, with a release date not yet concrete, but tentative. It will go on sale in Japanese territory sometime in 2020. As of today, it has not yet been confirmed if Dragon Quest Tact will overflow its fantasy outside the Japanese borders. Meanwhile, players from other territories have the opportunity to continue enjoying Dragon Quest XI, whose launch on Nintendo Switch occurred last year. It is also available on PS4 and PC. The future? The twelfth installment, despite the fact that we still have to wait a long time.
