Media Molecule launches a short test introducing an evaluation of Dreams creations that want to be used outside of PlayStation.

Dreams receives a new test in which an evaluation test is introduced for creators who want to export their creations for commercial purposes. All original content created within the game is the property of its creator, and these are enabled to be used for your personal use. However, some would like to use this content for other opportunities.

According to the company, they have had many questions about this issue. "We've received a lot of questions from creators about using Dreams for commercial opportunities outside of PlayStation, such as concept sketches." While they encourage creators to do so, they recognize that this is "new territory" for them.

“We have been busy mapping out how we can make this easier for creators in the future. We are launching a beta evaluation, in which creators can apply to use Dreams in a specific project. ” The beta, which is currently available to a small number of users (who were in Early Access), aims to "learn how gamers want to use Dreams away from PlayStation" and how Media Molecule can support it.

Right now the requirements are not few: players should have a project in mind, a time frame to complete it and be willing to provide feedback on a regular basis.

Expansion plans for Dreams to serve beyond itself has been a constant pursuit throughout its development. In the words of Mark Healey, the company's co-founder, he recognized that the authors of the best games should have an opportunity to publish them on the PlayStation Store.

"One of the obvious things we should be doing is choosing content that is brilliant and launching it as a standalone product on the PlayStation Store," he begins in an interview with VGC. The creative is convinced that they will be able to do it: “It is a fantastic story to see how the community has developed in such a short period of time. There's already worthwhile content on PSN, so that will at least end up happening, I'm sure. I'm going to make it possible ”, he concludes.
