The game will be a hack and slash set in Icewind Dale, one of the regions of the Forgotten Realms.

Dragons and Dungeons returns to video games with the spiritual successor of the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance saga. This is Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance, an action title developed by Tuque that will give us the chance to fight in the frozen worlds of Icewind Dale, located in the Forgotten Realms. The game, built with a hack and slack structure, will lead us to explore dungeons to find all kinds of treasures. It has been officially announced during the 2019 The Game Awards gala.

Dark Alliance will feature some iconic characters from the Forgotten Realms, a saga created by R.A. Salvatore that has role-playing video games, board games and novels. "Drizzt and his companions are some of the best-known heroes of Dungeons & Dragons," explains Nathan Stewart, head of the Dragons and Dungeons franchise. "This new Dark Alliance will give players a visceral experience that will immerse them fully in the action to discover the story of Drizzt as never before told."

Action for up to four players

The new Tuque is designed for a maximum of four players in local cooperative. We can handle Drizzt Do’Urden himself, who will be accompanied by characters such as Catti-Brie, Bruenor and Wulfgar. All of them must make their way against the monsters that dwell hidden among the tundra.

"From the moment I founded Tuque, our team has always wanted to demonstrate their passion for D&D and creativity with the Dark Alliance series," says Jeff Hattem, VP Digital Development at Tuque Games. The developer says they will offer players "an epic journey" through these icy and violent lands, "where they will have to use their ingenuity, weapons and maximum cooperation to survive all the monsters that face them "

Meanwhile, Larian Studios is immersed in the development of Baldur's Gate III, a new installment of the main saga originally created by BioWare, parents of Dragon Age and Mass Effect. The new production, scheduled for PC and Google Stadia, does not yet have a confirmed release date.
