E3 2020: ESA confirms Nintendo's attendance; will be in Los Angeles

Although the initial list of confirmed companies did not include the name of the Super Mario firm, ESA has settled all speculation.

Nintendo will be in the E3 2020. The ESA (Entertainment Software Association), organizer of the event, issued this Wednesday a first list confirming the first great publishers for this edition, where Sony will not be. The absence of the name of Nintendo made some alarms go off, but Mario's parents, Zelda and the successful Nintendo Switch will not miss the angel appointment this June.

June 9-11: E3 2020; also with Nintendo

The confirmation comes from a new statement of the ESA itself, where they advance part of that reinvention that has been promising since last year to improve, from the base, the structure and conception of the E3. Among all the experiences awaiting the fair, the Kyoto company will be in Los Angeles from the days before June 9, when the Los Angeles Convention Center will open its doors to the public.

As he has been doing since 1995, Nintendo will be one of the companies present in the pavilions; although it is not confirmed whether or not they will do a face-to-face press conference, something that they have ruled out since 2013, when they began broadcasting a Nintendo Direct (or the relevant name of each edition) previously recorded with all the news pending communication.

"We are working to make E3 2020 a more interactive and immersive experience with an exhibition hall that will amplify our exhibitors, their innovations and announcements," says Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of ESA. Next, they record some names of “leading companies” in the sector, where Nintendo already appears. The quote is as follows: "Xbox, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Bethesda Softworks, SEGA, Capcom, Square Enix, Take-Two Interactive Software, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc., and Warner Bros. Games, among others."

Who will not be at E3 2020 is Geoff Keighley, a well-known organizing journalist for The Game Awards and who, during these last two years, was also promoting the E3 Coliseum program, in which new announcements were eventually announced.

Nintendo is expected precisely that, ads, as fans also await a new issue of Nintendo Direct after the largest interval ever seen between one of these programs, more than 160 days, being the last one last September. The possibility of one of these programs this February remains only mere speculation.
