Konami’s football sim will be released this year as a standalone content update to PES 2020.
Konami is focused on next-generation Pro Evolution Soccer, which is why the studio has released eFootball PES 2021 Season Update, a squad and club update that is available as a standalone game. This means that it is not a DLC of last year’s title, but a delivery that can be found in the usual stores, both in digital and physical format. The game can now be purchased on PS4, Xbox One and PC (Steam, starting at 5:00 p.m., Spanish peninsular time) at a recommended price of 29.99 euros, as reported by Konami in a press release.
The title, therefore, includes all the playable features and mechanics of eFootball 2020, although it is updated with the latest player and club data for the new season. It also comes with the exclusive UEFA EURO 2020 mode and content, which despite its launch in PES 2020, has yet to take place in real life.

Two different editions
Konami points out that due to delays in the completion of some seasons due to the coronavirus epidemic, certain leagues will be updated through a day 1 patch. Others, however, will be up to date when the Data Pack comes out after launch. As usual, the product will be distributed in several editions. The Standard features Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover along with Marcus Rashford and Alphonso Davies. For a time, the presence of both stars on the cover came to be in danger, since the Argentine star threatened to leave the Blaugrana team. The Club Editions (34.99 euros) include an Iconic Moments Series player and a full myClub team, among other items.
PES will be renewed on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S with a new graphics engine. They will stop using the FOX Engine from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to embark on an adventure with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine.
