Everwild will be something unique and never seen before, according to Rare

Everwild: Rare is silent because he continues to work on ideas for gameplay

The team, also responsible for Sea of Thieves, works in parallel in this experience so focused on creating stories between the players.

Rare wants to turn Everwild into a video game that cannot be compared to other action adventures of a magical nature. The open-world title, with a strong narrative component and interaction with nature, is still in development for Xbox Series X | S, but the English studio is being cautious when showing new materials.

“Something unique is brewing at Rare”

James Blackham, video game design leader, explained on LinkedIn on the occasion of a job vacancy that they are designing “something that the world does not have and has not seen before.” And anticipates: “Something unique is brewing in Rare”

The studio has been silent for many months because, as they explained last July, they continue to work on ideas for the gameplay. “Deep down, we love the Sea of Thieves idea that players can create stories together.” Here you can see his last twelve minute video where he presents himself to the Eternals.

Everwild, Rare’s most personal project

The latest information we have about the game is not exactly positive, although at no time have they transmitted that development is going badly, but that it is progressing slowly. It was last October when we learned that Simon Woodroffe was leaving the project, who had been the creative director of the work until now. Executive producer Louise O’Connor, meanwhile, has taken over.

This is not the first time we have had a change of command at Rare. A long time ago there was a change in the creative direction of Everwild, which left Sea of Thieves in the hands of Greg Mayles and Joe Neate.

Everwild was originally released as part of the Xbox One catalog; However, after the Xbox conference last summer 2020, the Everwild trailer went on to show only the Xbox Series X | S logo. We do not know whether or not there will be a version for the Xbox One family of consoles.

Everwild has no release date.
