Fermin Aldeguer will miss the MotoGP Dutch Grand Prix after a severe crash left him with a fractured T7 vertebra at Turn 11.
The Spaniard was declared unfit by MotoGP doctor Angel Charte following the injury, and the team said the fracture will be evaluated over the next few days.
Aldeguer was taken to hospital after the impact, and no further details about his condition were released until the medical team reviews his fitness before FP2.
Second race missed by the rider this season
Assen follows Thailand, where he skipped the opener after breaking his left femur during pre‑season training; a comeback in Brazil and a podium in Barcelona did not fully recover him.
Teammate Marquez also crashes
Alex Marquez spun at the same corner, triggering a red flag with only three minutes remaining. He sustained a contusion to his right shoulder and abrasions to his left arm, with no fractures.
Both riders will undergo fitness assessments by MotoGP medical staff on Saturday morning.
